Dry flaky skin? Not to worry, I have solutions!

Are you experiencing dry, tight, flaky skin?

Not to worry, I have solutions for you!

Winter time, the heat is on and the air lacks moisture and it pulls whatever water we have in our top layer of skin out and we are left with dehydrated, dry and flaky skin. No fun! I know, it leaves me feeling less glowing and a little blah looking.

So hear are my solutions for you to help replenish dry and dehydrated skin- and get your GLOW back!

First you’ll want to get into the habit of layering your skin care products this time of year. Yes, I know some of you like to keep it simple, but this time of year more is better to help defend off the environmental drying effect on our skin.

Always start with freshly washed, clean skin so the active ingredients from your skin care products can penetrate into your skin and do their work.

Step 1. Start with a serum. All of Adina Pure Skin Care serums contain hydrating ingredients (humectants) such as hyaluronic acid, beet sugar extract and propanediol which improve moisture binding activity to hydrate the skin and slow water loss. = PLUMP MOIST SKIN. I particularly like to use my Youthful Glow Serum and often I even layer the Infinity Serum or Radiance Restore Serum on top of it. ?

Step 2. Moisturize with a hydrating face cream.  Rose Glow Intensive Moisture is my favorite product for dehydrated, sensitive or dry skin. Its not heavy or greasy, it absorbs instantly, leaving your skin soft, smooth and dewy and it smells AMAZING!! It contains nourishing oils for cellular regeneration and hydrating plant extracts for dewey, plump skin cells, and skin firming peptides for keeping your skin healthy and toned.

Step 3. Use a face oil. Layering a face oil like Radiant Face Oil  or  Sun Salutation on top of your moisturizer and serum will hold all that goodness of hydrating ingredients into your skin, keeping the water in your skin cells. When your skin cells are healthy and moist they are able to perform their function of proper renewal, protection and temperature regulation. All of this is necessary for healthy looking skin. I like to press a few drops of Radiant Face Oil on top of my moisturizer at night and I use the Sun Salutation in the day everyday. 365 days a year. I never leave the house without my Sun Salutation because damaging UVA rays (“A” stands for aging) come through clouds and windows.

Now I need to discuss exfoliation.  In the winter your skin is more dry that means the skin barrier is more fragile so you’ll want to exfoliate but not as often as in the spring, fall or summer. Keep exfoliation to two to three times a week depending on your skin. I generally use  Skin Revitalizing  Scrub 1-2x a week in the am and  Refining Lotion 2x a week at night. So that’s 1 or 2 days of using a manual exfoliation (polishing) and 1-2 night of a chemical (acid) exfoliation. Alternating between the two offers optimal results.

Last but not least, masking. I’m so grateful for my Hydrating Honey Mask especially this time of year. It is truly my skins saving grace. I use it after cleansing at least 2x a week sometimes 3 this time of year. It brings your skin back to life by hydrating and nourishing your skin cells. Seriously my skin glows from this!!

Not to forget about  Nourishing Mist. This is a hydrating toner designed to help draw the moisturizing ingredients from serums and moisturizers into your skin. I recommend it always after cleansing, before serum, and can be used throughout the day to add moisture back into your skin. It contains good ol’ hyaluronic acid to help hold that moisture onto the skin.

So there you have it, the steps to nourish and repair your skin from the harsh winter weather. Enjoy nourishing yourself with my conscious, beautifying, botanical skin care products.?

Sending you much love!
